Rancheando (Sardinia, 2022)

“Ranchear” is used in Argentina to define the act of doing typical home activities in public places, in uncomfortable situations but with satisfaction.

In July 2022 Daianna and I have “ranched” around Sardinia, sharing with great fun various uncomfortable moments, while eating, sleeping, moving, spending our free time.
That’s where this photographic project comes from.

I’ve tried to express the discomfort making the pictures “uncomfortable to watch”: dull tones, ruined and dirty, as if they’ve been found just thrown on the road many years later.

  • Naps in the time of no naps
  • On this waves soil
  • Tecnology with low battery communicates at the sound of screams in the wind
  • The walk-in closet wasn't included in the package
  • Five-thousand stars hotel
  • Tired, but rocked by life
  • It was a dinner with sea view, sea sound, sea smell
  • Boiling drinks
  • Wallowing in a sea of Moon
  • Home and office in a little trunk
  • They went shopping, but with no rush
  • That place where sheeps turn into cars, and trees into buildings
  • Stories of winds and ancient ruins so full of energy that it was hard to breathe
  • Tired feet and fried shoulders
  • Climbing non-existent paths rewarded with sweat & plateau & sunset
  • Lazy wait of a fresher hour
  • Pastry, asphalt and Cappuccino
  • Dreams in shade
  • Drops of framed instants
  • Supposedly they were four minutes of stillness, but there were too many laughters
  • The bar of the town, where only people from the town know that it is a bar
  • In the dinners with naked feet food is delicious
  • That melting between rocks and abyss
  • 2 p.m.: the trekking
  • The second after the moonrise
  • Flopped head, trip is over
